The 2026 Men's World Cup is finally here, and if you haven't been to Legends yet, you are missing out! This year is a massive milestone for us: for the first time ever, we are attempting to show every single match of a World Cup tournament live. It's an ambitious goal, but the support from this community has been nothing short of legendary.

    A Community That Shows Up!

We knew that keeping the doors open for 104 matches would be a heavy lift, but you all stepped up. We are thrilled to share that we have met the minimum volunteer lineup for every match on the schedule, but could always use more hands! From our bartenders and token sellers to security and floaters, the passion of our volunteers is what makes this bar possible!

Join the crew by logging into your 107IST account on 107ist.org, visit the Events Calendar and pick the date you want to volunteer! Join the waitlist if you don't see any spots currently available, or email legends@107ist.org if you have questions!

    The Ultimate "Work-from-Pub" Spot

Trying to catch a mid-week group stage match without using all your PTO? Legends is the perfect chill spot to set up during the workday. We have fast, secure guest wifi so you can keep those emails flowing while the world's best men's players are moving on the pitch!

    Drinks, Eats, and Good Pups

Legends' beverage list is curated to keep everyone happy. Whether you're looking for a celebratory pour or something refreshing and non-alcoholic, we've got you covered for $3 to $6 each. We're even featuring special World Cup branded Stella Artois on tap along with pre-mixed Aperol Spritz and Limoncello cocktails and can make you a mimosa anytime!

When it comes to food, we keep it community-focused. Feel free to bring your own meal, run out to a neighborhood eatery to grab something to-go, order delivery to the bar, or join in on the community potluck by bringing a dish to share with your fellow supporters.

And yes - well-behaved, friendly dogs are always welcome to join the viewing party.

Become a Member (or Just Visit for the Day)

Legends is a members-only space, but that doesn't mean it's exclusive. Members are encouraged to bring along friends, coworkers, neighbors, and family to share the experience.

    • Not a member yet? You can grab a day pass for just $10.
    • Want access anytime? Join the 107IST for the rest of the year for only $30 and enjoy access to Legends and other 107IST member perks!

    Special Note: USMNT This Friday!

We are expecting a large crowd for the USA v Australia match this Friday, June 19, at noon. To make sure everyone is served and ready for kickoff, we are opening our doors early at 10:30am. Come early, grab a spot, and enjoy! We're bringing down even more seating.

We can show the matches on up to 10 screens, including 2 projectors, so you'll have a good view from anywhere!

    General Hours & Logistics

For all other Men's World Cup match days, our doors typically open 30 minutes before the first kickoff of the day. We will make adjustments to the Events calendar if there are other days where we open early.

We will stay open through the final whistle of the final match of the day, with Last Call taking place at the 80th minute of the last match.

There is no better place to experience the beautiful game than surrounded by people who love it as much as you do in a place that you helped create! Come watch with us and grow our community!

Legends is a 107IST beer hall located inside The Axe & Rose, which is located at 1737 SW Morrison St., Portland, OR 97205.

The Annual General Meeting took place on Saturday, March 21st at Legends. Last year, hosting AGM at Legends for the first time felt like a milestone and this year, it just felt like home. That shift in itself says a lot about where we are as an organization.

The theme of AGM this year was momentum. The investments we made in 2025: in the Axe & Rose, in our governance, in our community relationships, they are paying off. The Axe & Rose isn’t just a place we gather anymore, it’s a platform for everything we do. The good vibes in Legends are growing, community organizations are tabling on match days, new members are signing up and the cowbell keeps ringing, and we’re getting ready to show the World Cup this summer to anyone who walks through the door! We are building something real, and it shows.

The meeting opened with committee presentations from nearly every part of the org: TA Tifo, TA Steering Committee, NPO, Riveters Steering Committee, Riveters Merch, Member Services, Partnerships, Community Outreach, Away Travel, TAFC, RSGs, the BIPOC Advisory Group, ISC, and Legends, all before closing with a board retrospective and look ahead. Two of our adjacent partner organizations also presented: the Giselle Currier Scholarship Fund, which awarded over $19,000 in scholarships to 16 young players this year, and Operation Pitch Invasion, which has now built five blacktop futsal courts in Clark County since 2023 with more on the way.

Both merch teams are firing on all cylinders. Riveters merch produced over 30items in 2025, with a scarf launch at March 20th Thorns opener that alone brought in $6,000 in sales that will directly benefit community organizations. No Pity Originals continues to dial in inventory management and margin discipline while keeping prices stable despite a challenging tariff environment. The Vans collaboration was a huge win. Both teams are increasingly coordinating their offerings so members can shop across supporter groups without overlap and Hannah on Riveters Merch is the connective tissue making that happen.

Last year, Away travel sent 369 people to San Diego across three Timbers matches last year, including two playoff runs. The Miami allotment for 2026 sold out almost immediately and the Riveters are making their first-ever trips to Denver and Boston this season. The team is also exploring a group train option for a July Riveters away day, no promises, but fingers crossed.

The board’s focus in 2026 is squarely on helping members become volunteers, building financial maturity under our new Treasurer Dan, documentation of processes, and completing the building capacity project that will permanently increase Legends’ occupancy and let us stop budgeting around permit limits. The org is in sound financial shape, the cushion is real, but the building investment is significant and will require the whole community moving in the same direction.

What Can You Do as a Member?

    • Sign up a new member! Word of mouth is how we grow. Bring someone who’s been curious but hasn’t made it in yet; a $10 day pass is a low-stakes way to dip a toe in, meet some folks, support breweries who are invested in the work supporters are doing.
    • Volunteer for a committee. Every single committee that presented is looking for more people. Paint tifo. Sling merch on match days. Help coordinate away trips. Run Legends for a game. Reach out to local businesses about partnerships. There is something for every schedule and skill set.
    • Come watch the World Cup at Legends this summer! We have secured a viewing license and we’ll be open for as many matches as we can staff. Tell your friends! We want to be the party in Portland.
    • If you can, give a little extra. Donation pins through member services make a meaningful difference in keeping membership at $30. There’s also a Pay It Forward option on the website if you want to anonymously sponsor someone who can’t afford the fee.

We are so proud of what this community has built and are excited about what we want to accomplish in 2026 especially as being in community becomes more important than ever. We hope to see you in the stands, streets, or interwebs.

Potluck is arguably the reason I am a 107IST member.

Beginning in 2004, my boys played club soccer for Bernie Fagan’s Oregon Soccer Academy. Bernie gave every kid who played for him a season ticket to the Timbers (in West Side Library seats), wisely figuring we wouldn’t just drop off our 10-year-old kids at the stadium; we’d buy tickets for the family.

It worked. We bought season tickets in 216 and then 116. We were hooked. The soccer was questionable, but the match day was a blast. And it was clear that, win or lose, whatever was going on in the North End of the stadium was a great time. We figured out some chant lyrics, and I found Soccer City, USA (SCUSA) online.

For those who don’t know, SCUSA was an old-style message board for soccer fans in Portland. There were discussion sections for Portland Pilots fans, fans of soccer around the world, and many more—and of course for the Portland Timbers and the Timbers Army. I was fascinated … but also intimidated.

I LOVED the energy of the TA on match days, and the online community was amazing. I created an account so I could log in and read stuff, but I was hesitant to post in a place where I didn’t really know anyone. I lurked on SCUSA for a long time, learning all I could but not having the courage to post.

Finally, one day, after reading multiple posts about “prefunk” potluck activities on previous match days, I decided that it was a safe place for this tragically unhip soccer mom to finally type something.

I think my first actual SCUSA post was something like, “I can bring a pie.”

And I did. We showed up before a match at a designated prefunk parking lot, where an ad hoc, prematch barbecue was happening. Lots of people brought food to share. A couple of guys grilled meat on a barbecue. I found an incredibly warm and welcoming group of people.

Fast forward to 2026. We are a nonprofit with a lease on our very own space right across from the stadium. On match days I volunteer at the membership services counter, greeting new and returning friends before every game. And I always bring food to share.

That’s why this past weekend’s newest potluck provider warmed my heart. I could see myself in her. Food was where I first found my way to contribute to this community. For all of the stuff that came later—manning the Fanladen, fighting (and defeating) MLS lawyers, and so much more—for me it all started with a pie.

At the first regular season Timbers home game this year, a woman signed up for 107IST membership at the Axe & Rose. She had been going to games for awhile, but this was her first foray into our community space. She was psyched to see that there was a potluck, and she asked how she could contribute. I sent her a link to a spreadsheet that a few of us use to keep track of who is bringing what. At the next Timbers game, her second match day as a member, she brought chorizo, egg, and cheese casserole.

This is what building community looks like.

Want to bring food to Legends on a matchday? Sign up here! It’s a great way to contribute to the community we are building together.

We are thrilled to invite all our members to the 107IST Annual General Meeting (AGM)! This is one of the most important events of the year, a chance for all of us to come together and celebrate the collective impact we’ve made over the past year!

    Look Back and Look Ahead

The 107IST AGM is designed to give you, our members and our community, a comprehensive look at the amazing work that has been accomplished in the last year. You’ll get to hear about successes, see the results of our efforts, and understand the real difference your membership makes.

That’s not all!! Each committee will also be providing a preview of what’s coming up this year! Learn about the 107IST’s goals, upcoming events, and the exciting direction we’re headed!

    Get Involved: Volunteer Opportunities

The AGM is also the perfect opportunity to learn about new ways to get involved in the 107IST, the Timbers Army, or the Rose City Riveters! Each of our committees will be sharing information about their current projects and - most importantly - opportunities for more volunteers to participate!

It’s a great way to meet your community, get to know the dedicated people driving our work, and get stuck in! Whenever you have an hour a month or a few hours a week, if you want to paint tifo or help on the administrative side, there’s a place for your energy and passion.

    Event Details

Join us on Saturday, March 21 in Legends. Doors open at 1:30pm, programming will run from about 2pm to 4pm and we’ll close up around 5pm.

We recognize that not everyone can attend in person, which is why we are offering a hybrid option. If you’d like to join virtually, please register here so we can email you the link before the event!

We look forward to seeing you there!

The last couple of days have hit us hard with the horrific news of state violence against our communities. We are heartbroken about the shooting of two individuals by Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) agents in our city yesterday and the murder in Minneapolis on Wednesday by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). These events aren’t just news clips to pay attention to - they demand action and we are providing ways you can get involved.

The fight for a humane society continues. As individuals, we have to let the pain of this week be the fuel for our commitment to join in and help our collective liberation, in a host of different ways. As a community, we are standing in full solidarity with the victims, their families, our communities, and the tireless organizers who are leading this charge.

Call to Action: Follow and Join Those Doing the Work

In times of crisis, we must support the groups that have been fighting these systemic injustices before they made headlines. These are the local organizers, the grassroots advocates, and the community defenders who have the expertise, the relationships, and the immediate capacity to respond effectively to these issues.

We urge 107IST members and our broader community of supporters to look to and follow the leadership of local community organizing groups. Our goal here is to amplify the incredible work and resources that already exist so you can jump right in.

Over the past two weekends, our incredible community truly showed up! We are thrilled to share the fantastic results of our recent food drives, held during the prefunks for the home matches and the watch parties over the last two weekends.

The energy both inside and outside the stadium the last couple of weekends has been amazing, especially as we have rallied to support those facing food insecurity in our region. Thanks to your generosity, we successfully collected hundreds of pounds of food and at least $500 in monetary donations to local organizations focused on helping us and our neighbors!

    Community Impact

The true victory lies in the reach of your donations. We are proud to announce that the collected items have been and will be distributed to seven different organizations working tirelessly on the front lines of hunger relief in our community. These organizations include (with links to donate directly in some cases):

    • AWARE Food Bank (click here to donate directly)
    • James John Elementary School
    • Astor K–8 School
    • Chief Joseph Elementary School
    • APANO (click here to donate directly)
    • William Temple House (click here to donate directly)
    • Rose Haven (click here to donate directly)

Each of these groups plays a vital role in ensuring that families, seniors, and children have access to nutritious meals.

    Thank You!

Whether you dropped off a can at the Axe & Rose, donated cash at the No Pity Van, made a donation directly online, or helped us spread the word, your participation made this effort a resounding success. Thank you for making match days about more than just the 90 minutes on the pitch—they were about making a tangible difference in our community.

Donations from 11/1 and 11/2, sorted and ready to be distributed

Donations from 11/9 (home playoff and watch party)

In these tumultuous times community can be the backbone that holds us together. As an org, the 107IST strives to help our neighbors when we can. This weekend we ask, if able, to help our community by bringing non-perishable items to be distributed to local food pantries.

This weekend our space, the Axe and Rose, will host food donations both days. Specifically, we are looking for:

    • Shelf-stable milk,

    • Canned soup,

    • Nut butters, Canned meats,

    • Whole grain Pasta

    • Gluten-free foods (i.e. pastas, soups, healthy snack items)

    • Breakfast foods (i.e. whole grain cereal, granola bars, oatmeal cups)

    • Dried beans

    • Tortillas

    • Rice

On Saturday from 3:30-5:45 we are collecting goods for AWARE Food Pantry. You can stop by the space and help us fill the No Pity Van with food. For the match on Saturday, the Timbers front office has donated 107 general admission tickets to the 107IST. If you donate goods mentioned above, and we have not yet distributed all 107 tickets, you will be given a general admission ticket at no cost.

On Sunday from 11-1:15 PM we are open, and will be continuing to collect goods to be distributed to local food pantries. These goods will be donated to the food drive already being conducted by the Portland Thorns front office, and you are welcome to contribute there instead of at the Axe and Rose if that better fits your game day schedule.

Click here for additional resources for those experiencing food insecurity at this time about where to find local pantries.

We stand shoulder to shoulder with our community, and will continue taking care of each other.

    Thank you. #RCTID #BAONPDX

  • 10/15/2025 12:00 PM | Sam Prince (Administrator)

On September 14th the 107IST board assembled in the Axe and Rose to chat with membership, check in about organizational progress, and engage about the organization’s ethos statement. Below are some key takeaways from our discussions, and some highlighted themes:

    • Organizational Health & Growth

      • Community rebuilding successfully with returning members.

      • Average member tenure exceeds 8 years indicating deep connection with the Clubs and community.

      • Axe and Rose investment has been validated through match day traffic in retail space and Legends.

      • Away viewings at Legends are good, low-stakes gathering opportunities for members to interact

    • Operational Challenges & Solutions

      • Communication gaps identified requiring improvements around newsletter format

      • Org is currently working with an architect to have the space reclassified as an assembly hall, permanently raising occupancy cap rather than relying on monthly permits (which are expensive)

      • Volunteer workload concentration requires new member integration, and our volunteer force has grown tremendously this year.

    •  Member Experience Improvements (28:53 - 01:05:11)

      • Discord integration has been successful, but needs to be advertised more and have some added resources for new members.

      • Event planning requires advance notice, we’re navigating creating and publicizing scheduling

      • Recognition balance sought between individual appreciation and collective culture.

During the second portion of the conversation, which was more free-flowing Q&A. Some of the highlights included:

    • Optimal newsletter frequency and format - should the organization move to multiple shorter emails?

      • Newsletter restructuring - shorter, focused emails with specific timing optimization.

      • Digital newspaper format - visual, infographic-style newsletter with minimal text.

      • Landing page strategy - create a newsletter with brief hooks linking to detailed web pages.

    • Volunteer recognition approach - how to balance appreciation with culture?

      • Behind-the-scenes content - social media documentation of match-day preparation.

      • Job fair integration - combine appreciation events with volunteer showcases.

    • New member integration - what resources best support onboarding?

      • New member primer - quick reference guide for newcomers.

The final portion of the evening was spent discussing the organization’s ethos statement, a draft of the statement can be found here. While this was a fantastic exchange, and included both validation and pushback from membership, much of it already being integrated, we want to use this portion of the recap to invite you into the fold.

    • What questions do you have about this ethos?

    • Do you feel as though it accurately reflects our ethos as an organization?

    • What would you add, subtract, or alter?

    • How would you want to see it ratified or shelved, a board vote? A member vote? Another way?
