It started as an idea hatched by a teenaged soccer fan. If Portland was to field a professional women’s soccer team, that team should have supporters. And the supporters should have a scarf, and a voice, and a name. The group now known as the Rose City Riveters is the preeminent supporters group for women’s professional soccer anywhere in the world. Housed in the North End of Providence Park in Portland, Ore., the Riveters, along with the Timbers Army, are a branches of the 107IST, the organizational “trunk” of Portland soccer support tree. The 107IST seeks to support soccer in and around Portland from the grassroots to the highest level. For information on joining the 107IST, please click here. While we encourage you to join the 107IST, if you want to be a Rose City Riveter, you already are. Please excuse the smoke while content is being migrated! |
