Who are the rose city riveters?

It started as an idea hatched by a teenaged soccer fan. If Portland was to field a professional women’s soccer team, that team should have supporters. And the supporters should have a scarf, and a voice, and a name. Now in our eighth season supporting the Portland Thorns, the group now known as the Rose City Riveters is the preeminent supporters group for women’s professional soccer anywhere in the world.

Housed in the North End of Providence Park in Portland, Ore., the Riveters, along with the Timbers Army, are branches of the 107IST, the organizational “trunk” of Portland soccer support tree. The 107IST seeks to support soccer in and around Portland from the grassroots to the highest level.
