2026 Annual General Meeting Recap

04/08/2026 4:49 PM | Gabby Rosas (Administrator)

The Annual General Meeting took place on Saturday, March 21st at Legends. Last year, hosting AGM at Legends for the first time felt like a milestone and this year, it just felt like home. That shift in itself says a lot about where we are as an organization.

The theme of AGM this year was momentum. The investments we made in 2025: in the Axe & Rose, in our governance, in our community relationships, they are paying off. The Axe & Rose isn’t just a place we gather anymore, it’s a platform for everything we do. The good vibes in Legends are growing, community organizations are tabling on match days, new members are signing up and the cowbell keeps ringing, and we’re getting ready to show the World Cup this summer to anyone who walks through the door! We are building something real, and it shows.

The meeting opened with committee presentations from nearly every part of the org: TA Tifo, TA Steering Committee, NPO, Riveters Steering Committee, Riveters Merch, Member Services, Partnerships, Community Outreach, Away Travel, TAFC, RSGs, the BIPOC Advisory Group, ISC, and Legends, all before closing with a board retrospective and look ahead. Two of our adjacent partner organizations also presented: the Giselle Currier Scholarship Fund, which awarded over $19,000 in scholarships to 16 young players this year, and Operation Pitch Invasion, which has now built five blacktop futsal courts in Clark County since 2023 with more on the way.

Both merch teams are firing on all cylinders. Riveters merch produced over 30items in 2025, with a scarf launch at March 20th Thorns opener that alone brought in $6,000 in sales that will directly benefit community organizations. No Pity Originals continues to dial in inventory management and margin discipline while keeping prices stable despite a challenging tariff environment. The Vans collaboration was a huge win. Both teams are increasingly coordinating their offerings so members can shop across supporter groups without overlap and Hannah on Riveters Merch is the connective tissue making that happen.

Last year, Away travel sent 369 people to San Diego across three Timbers matches last year, including two playoff runs. The Miami allotment for 2026 sold out almost immediately and the Riveters are making their first-ever trips to Denver and Boston this season. The team is also exploring a group train option for a July Riveters away day, no promises, but fingers crossed.

The board’s focus in 2026 is squarely on helping members become volunteers, building financial maturity under our new Treasurer Dan, documentation of processes, and completing the building capacity project that will permanently increase Legends’ occupancy and let us stop budgeting around permit limits. The org is in sound financial shape, the cushion is real, but the building investment is significant and will require the whole community moving in the same direction.

What Can You Do as a Member?

  • Sign up a new member! Word of mouth is how we grow. Bring someone who’s been curious but hasn’t made it in yet; a $10 day pass is a low-stakes way to dip a toe in, meet some folks, support breweries who are invested in the work supporters are doing.
  • Volunteer for a committee. Every single committee that presented is looking for more people. Paint tifo. Sling merch on match days. Help coordinate away trips. Run Legends for a game. Reach out to local businesses about partnerships. There is something for every schedule and skill set.
  • Come watch the World Cup at Legends this summer! We have secured a viewing license and we’ll be open for as many matches as we can staff. Tell your friends! We want to be the party in Portland.
  • If you can, give a little extra. Donation pins through member services make a meaningful difference in keeping membership at $30. There’s also a Pay It Forward option on the website if you want to anonymously sponsor someone who can’t afford the fee.

We are so proud of what this community has built and are excited about what we want to accomplish in 2026 especially as being in community becomes more important than ever. We hope to see you in the stands, streets, or interwebs.
