TA Away Game Travel Guide to Denver

Getting to Denver

As of January 2014, Frontier, Southwest and United all fly direct from Portland. Alaska flies to Denver as well, but you will need to connect through Seattle.

It's about an 18- to 19-hour drive from Portland. It has been done in the past.

Getting to the Game

Dick's Sporting Goods Park is located at 6000 Victory Way, Commerce City, CO 80022. It's about 10 miles away from downtown Denver.

The stadium is not easily accessible by public transit, but parking is free (or has been). Give yourself a cushion after the game as there are often jams coming out of the parking lot.

Directions to the stadium and parking info can be found here.

Hotels

There are a number of hotels downtown as well. This includes hostels.

Near the stadium is not a particularly fun place to stay, but you have options. The stadium is on the site of the old Stapleton Airport, meaning there are a number of former airport hotels close by south of the stadium on Quebec Street, like the Doubletree, the Renaissance, and the Holiday Inn, which could be cheap. There's also a hotel called the Timbers along the interstate east of the stadium.

Eat and Drink

Trve Brewing is a heavy metal brewery with a great atmosphere if you like Slayer.

Boxcar Coffee

Tocabe has fry bread bison tacos and other Native American delicacies.

Voodoo Donuts has a Denver location. You can go indulge yourself. After all, you're a tourist if you go to Denver.

Other Things To Do

Visit the Denver Art Museum.

Red Rocks Park has hiking and is a music amphitheater which has hosted such musical legends as John Tesh.
