TA Away Game Travel Guide to Atlanta

The Cup match is taking place at 8pm EST on Saturday, December 8th at Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta. That is just under nine days from the final whistle in KC!

When will I be able to buy tickets?

Ticket sales opened at 10am PST on Saturday, December 1st. Each 2018 or 2019 107IST member got the chance to purchase 1 (one) ticket, first come first serve. Our 1300 tickets (1.8% of Mercedes Benz Stadium) sold out in 4 minutes. We will not be getting additional tickets from Atlanta United.

Where is the TA section?

Sections 331, 332, and 333, and part of section 330.

I don't have a TA ticket. Can I come stand with you anyway?

Due to our limited space, a wristband system will be in place for the 107IST sections (331, 332, 333 and part of 330). Please do not suggest people move into these sections or invite supporters into these sections who are not wearing a wristband provided by the 107IST.

How will tickets be distributed?

Tickets must be picked up in person at the tailgate on Saturday, beginning at 3 PM. Registered/transferred names will need to match a photo ID for pickup. Unclaimed tickets will be left at will call. Please do not make us leave your ticket at will call. Keep reading for details on said tailgate.

What’s up with the lottery through the FO?

Season ticket holders received an email after the final whistle about a lottery taking place for tickets adjacent to the TA section. This is separate from 107IST ticketing.

Where should I stay?

Mercedes Benz Stadium is SUPER accessible by MARTA, the local light rail. Staying downtown is always ideal, but from the airport to the stadium is ~25 minutes by MARTA, so hotels out there are good too.

Will there be a meetup on Friday?

Yes! Starting at 8 PM until 2 AM we’ll be at Foxtrot Liquor Bar (45 13th St NE, Atlanta, GA 30309) & Lava Lounge (57 13th St NE, Atlanta, GA 30309), which are right next to one another. Lava Lounge will be the bigger space and, despite what the website says, there is no dress code.

If you’re in town Friday night, come join your fellow supporters! Note: due to the venues, this event is 21+ only.

Will we have a volunteer event Saturday morning?

Yes! For Saturday morning we’ve arranged an opportunity with Trees Atlanta to help plant trees in the city, with some opportunities for the Bad Knees Brigade to volunteer as well. We’re really excited to be partnering with them on this - sign up at this link to join your fellow supporters.

Will we be tailgating on Saturday?

We will! This tailgate will NOT be with Terminus Legion - there are too many of us heading out this time. Our tailgate will start at 2:30 PM in the yellow lot noted with a star in the below map. We’re still working out a few details, but there will be food trucks and merriment (see: beer, and you are welcome to BYOB!), and a number of East Coast Platoon members are packing canopies/event tents in their cars for the drive to ensure we have a few dry spots.

Will flags be allowed?

Yes! 107IST will be bringing a host of flags in.

Will two-sticks and/or banners be allowed?

Two-sticks and banners will unfortunately not be allowed due to Atlanta’s security. We cannot attach banners to anything, and the process for getting overheads approved is too draconian to get anything but 107IST-provided flags approved.

Any bag policies I should know about?

You know it! Fans will be able to carry the following bags:

  • Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12” x 6” x 12.

  • Non-Clear bags no larger than 4.5 x 6.5.

  • Exceptions will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection at a gate designated for this purpose.

When will we enter the stadium?

At 5:00 PM, we will be escorted to the stadium for entry from the tailgate area. Due to the number of supporters we have and the extra exempt items we will have with us (drums, flags, etc), it is strongly suggested that you march with the group to the section. Please do not rush to the entry gate ahead of the leadership group.

Is there a post-match party planned?

After the match, we'll be heading to these places, win or lose:

Blake's On The Park (227 10th St NE, Atlanta, GA 30309) & TEN Atlanta (990 Piedmont Ave NE, Atlanta, GA 30309)

Both of these bars are in Midtown and are 21+. These venues are NOT being rented out. However, as with the Friday event, there are a bunch of spots nearby if you need a space for those under 21 or the bars are packed!

No, we don't know where the team/FO party is, so please don't ask.
