11/29/2015 11:55 AM | 107ist Admin (Administrator)

The Timbers will be playing the MLS Cup in Columbus, Ohio!

Your next steps to booking a place at Mapfre Stadium in the Timbers Army sections:

Are you a 107ist member (for either 2015 or 2016)? We'll be in touch with you shortly about purchasing tickets. They'll go on sale at 8am Monday morning, Pacific time.

Are you not currently a member? Tickets will go on sale at noon Pacific Time on Tuesday. We have held back a very small number of tickets in case we sell out to 107ists, so we will definitely be selling tickets Tuesday at noon, but the quantity is based on how many tickets we have left. If you become a member now, we apologize you'll still have to wait until Tuesday in order to purchase a ticket. You'll be able to do so here at timbersarmy.org so keep checking back!

Frequently Asked Questions

Cost: $48.47

Where will we be sitting? We'll be sitting in sections 113-117 at Mapfre Stadium. Seating will be general admission, just like the normal Timbers Army.

How many can I buy: You can buy two tickets per 107ist membership.

How many do we have? 900 tickets.

Are there ADA seats available? There are 4 ADA seats available in sections 113-117. Please contact us if you'll need an ADA seat.

Will the 107ist be offering travel packages? Unfortunately, for a number of different reasons, we're not able to provide any sort of transportation package to this match. You'll have to get there on your own.

    Bryan Smith says:

    John Holden says:
    Sunday, November 29, 2015 at 8:44 pm
We don’t have any deals on hotels – try booking.com.

    Bryan Smith says:
    Sunday, November 29, 2015 at 9:40 pm
I was really more wondering if there was any way to get an idea of where other TA members were likely to end up. I may end up staying out in the burbs with relatives, but would rather be where the TA (fun) is.

    John Holden says:
    Sunday, November 29, 2015 at 9:44 pm
From what I’ve heard anecdotally, many people are staying downtown or near OSU.

    Jason Sinclair says:
    Sunday, November 29, 2015 at 9:46 pm
I’m staying at Courtyard Columbus Downtown (35 West Spring Street). It’s about 10-15 minute drive to the stadium. No idea whatsoever if any other TA will be staying there, but it’s convenient and I have Marriott points so it’s a rewards stay for me. If you here of other hotels share them so we can maybe meet up at the same bar pre-game and more importantly post-game celebration!

    Bryan Smith says:
    Sunday, November 29, 2015 at 10:53 pm
I just found an insanely cheap AirBnB hostel typo room within 2 miles of the stadium and went ahead and booked it. I think we need to try to get some groups together in C’bus on Saturday and game day. Does MLS put on a bunch of stuff during the weekend like during All Star weekend?

    Trisha Cowman says:
    Monday, November 30, 2015 at 10:37 am
We booked our room at Residence Inn Columbus downtown (Marriott)
    (36 E Gay Street)
Hoping to meet up with other Army members while we are there!!!

    Christine says:

Is it true that it’s too late to sign up for the Army for early access purchase tomorrow?

    John Holden says:
    Sunday, November 29, 2015 at 8:54 pm
    Yes.

    Jason Sinclair says:
    Sunday, November 29, 2015 at 8:53 pm
I’m unfortunately not a 107ist member so will hopefully be able to score a ticket on Tuesday. However, it none are available, will you be able to share the section(s) in the stadium where the 900 tickets will be located? This way, if none are available for me on Tuesday, I can try to find my own ticket but still be close to the Timbers supporters. I don’t want to randomly buy a ticket that seats me in the middle of the Crew supporters. Thank you very much!

    John Holden says:
    Sunday, November 29, 2015 at 9:01 pm
    We’ll be in sections 113-117

    Jason Sinclair says:
    Sunday, November 29, 2015 at 9:08 pm
Thank you so much for answering all of our questions. Excited to go to the game and root for the Timbers, and you’re making this so much easier for all of us.

    Randy says:
    Sunday, November 29, 2015 at 9:00 pm
Wife freaking out after plane tickets purchased: “OMG there’s only 900 tickets available!”

    Randy says:
    Sunday, November 29, 2015 at 9:03 pm
Need an Away Day Legends patch run of 900. Please add that to the cost of tickets.

    jamie kettleson says:
    Sunday, November 29, 2015 at 9:09 pm
I joined about 2 weeks ago and haven’t gotten any emails about anything yet (aside from an activation email). Should I be worried about not getting the email tomorrow?

    John Holden says:
    Sunday, November 29, 2015 at 9:10 pm
No. We haven’t sent it out yet. Currently crossing i’s and dotting t’s, or something. (Had to confirm with Columbus about payment, for instance – they’re all working tonight)

    jamie kettleson says:
    Sunday, November 29, 2015 at 9:16 pm
    Awesome! Thanks John!

    Randy says:
    Sunday, November 29, 2015 at 9:16 pm

    “before 8am tomorrow”

    Matt Walls says:

    Michael G says:

In State College, PA here, Columbus is only a five hour drive. But obviously not a 107ist. If there are tickets available on Tuesday, where will I be able to purchase them from?

    John Holden says:
    Sunday, November 29, 2015 at 9:33 pm
Right here at timbersarmy.org – keep watching for details.

    Michael G says:
    Sunday, November 29, 2015 at 9:34 pm
    Awesome, thanks!

    Mike Coleman says:
    Sunday, November 29, 2015 at 10:23 pm
As and FYI – we have 107ist members that live in Europe, as well as all over the US (including PA).

    Christie Martin says:
    Sunday, November 29, 2015 at 9:34 pm
Will we be able to purchase ADA seats through the 107ist? We have one wheelchair user and one companion. Flight and hotel booked. Thanks!

    John Holden says:
    Sunday, November 29, 2015 at 9:43 pm
We just got section info tonight, so I’m not sure. The Timbers Army section is general admission, so if there are ADA seats in the section, I’d imagine you would be able to use those ADA seats. I’ll get in touch with the Crew FO about this. My advice would be to purchase through us so you have seats with the Timbers Army, and then if there’s no ADA seating in 113-117, I’ll put an ask in with the Crew to see how to best accommodate you including possibly a ticket swap.

    Christie Martin says:
    Sunday, November 29, 2015 at 9:52 pm
Thanks, John. We have attempted to determine if there are ADA seats in 113-117 but could find nothing on the internet. Thank you very much for looking into it.

    netti says:
    Sunday, November 29, 2015 at 10:07 pm
Did you check out the Crew’s 360 seat viewer? It’s really good and you can swirl all around every section)http://seatviewer.columbuscrewsc.com/

    Justin Brown says:
    Sunday, November 29, 2015 at 10:16 pm
I’m going to need a Wheelchair seat as well, and looking at that seat viewer, the sections looked the opposite of ADA friendly.

    John Holden says:
    Sunday, November 29, 2015 at 10:23 pm
I’ve put in an email to the Crew about ADA seating. Will find out more tomorrow.

    Lance Cummins says:

    Omar says:

    John Holden says:
    Monday, November 30, 2015 at 5:17 am
Your best bet is to check timbersarmy.org at Noon Pacific if we haven’t sold out.

    Bryan Smith says:
    Sunday, November 29, 2015 at 11:34 pm
Do we all go into the stadium together?

    John Holden says:
    Monday, November 30, 2015 at 5:16 am
Talking with Columbus security at the moment, no one really knows anything yet in terms of gameday procedure, but we’re sure it’ll be worked out quickly.

    Abigail Sigmon says:
    Monday, November 30, 2015 at 9:15 am
Let’s just hope the line to get through security isn’t as bad as the Dallas game.

    Andy Fuhrman says:
    Monday, November 30, 2015 at 5:31 am
My son and I are coming in from Florida , He lives for this team. We have tickets in section 225, so we wont be sitting with the army. Do you know if there will be something going on Saturday night?

    John Holden says:
    Monday, November 30, 2015 at 5:56 am
We don’t know yet. Right now we’re doing our best to get ticketing out. We’re still waiting on a lot of information, and whether or not we can find a place to congregate as TA will be something we’ll be looking into.

    netti says:
    Monday, November 30, 2015 at 10:55 am

    Heath Britt says:

    Heath Britt says:
    Monday, November 30, 2015 at 8:25 am

    Adam Bacher says:

900 tickets in less than a minute??????
    WTF !!!
We’ve been season tix holders and 107ist members since the beginning…..
HOW IS THAT FAIR … less than a minute ??????

    Mark Prinzmetal says:
    Monday, November 30, 2015 at 8:20 am
There are no tickets onsale at 8am… Soldout?

    David Steves says:
    Monday, November 30, 2015 at 8:22 am
I had the same experience as Adam. Does this mean all tickets really were gone by 08:00:30 am PST — and that therefore no additional tickets will be available for purchase via the TA allotment?

    Matt Ellis says:
    Monday, November 30, 2015 at 8:23 am
Well, that went poorly. I actually had one in my cart and then it kicked me out.

    Lance Cummins says:
    Monday, November 30, 2015 at 8:33 am
Same thing happened to me. Was trying to buy 2 got nothing.

    Cindi Willke says:
    Monday, November 30, 2015 at 8:44 am
Me too. I started at 8:00 on the dot and kept refreshing the page every 10 seconds. Only once were there tix avail but I put them in my cart and they were gone! So bummed to have to resort to StubHub.

    Matt Perluss says:
    Monday, November 30, 2015 at 8:46 am
Thrice I had it in my cart and I got kicked out.

    Matt Ellis says:
    Monday, November 30, 2015 at 11:58 am
Thanks to the TA for getting a good allotment of tickets and getting a sale set up so quickly. It speaks volumes about the fan base that demand can be so high that we have an issue of having enough tickets for everyone, even to fly across the country on short notice. Congrats to everyone that got one. Hopefully, I can find a way to see everyone out there.
I am now in a Catch 22 in that I had made plans with a friend to go out, and he is counting on me for the plane ticket. Of course, he got a game ticket this morning and I got Borchered. So, if anyone has an extra…

    Randy Kilwag says:
    Monday, November 30, 2015 at 8:24 am
Well I’ve got plane tickets but no match tickets! Signed in between 8:00 and 8:01 and it went from “sale hasn’t started” to “unavailable”. after refreshes SOLD OUT
If you find you can’t arrange travel and can’t use your tickets, please PM me on Facebook or send an email randy at annoying dot com

    John Holden says:
    Monday, November 30, 2015 at 8:27 am
We were sold out within seconds.

    Patrick Favole says:
    Monday, November 30, 2015 at 8:27 am
well, that’s discouraging. Logged in right at 8 and never saw anything but “unavailable”.

    Art Hanley says:
    Monday, November 30, 2015 at 8:31 am
If anyone ends up with one extra, PLEASE, get in touch with me. I have my travel booked in anticipation of getting a single and want to avoid sitting in a section away from TA.

    Mark Prinzmetal says:
    Monday, November 30, 2015 at 8:33 am
Tickets Army tickets already being scalped on Craigs List for $230. I could not be more disappointed!

    Matt Hasti says:
    Monday, November 30, 2015 at 9:01 am
The predatory scalper market drives me crazy so when I saw this comment I blew a gasket. But a little faith was restored in our TA community when checked it on craigslist. The tickets on craigslist are in section 111, not the section reserved for the TA and on sale today.

    JP Swanson says:
    Monday, November 30, 2015 at 8:33 am
    WTF

    Jeff Ball says:
    Monday, November 30, 2015 at 8:33 am
Crap! Sold out already. I just need one ticket

    Lance Cummins says:
    Monday, November 30, 2015 at 8:35 am
This is just maddening. I hate giving money to Stubhub but it is either that or nothing.

    JP Swanson says:
    Monday, November 30, 2015 at 8:46 am
ARGH! Had to go to StubHub too, oh well, at least I’ll be there!

    Jen Kulle says:
    Monday, November 30, 2015 at 8:48 am
    So that’s it?
How is that possible? 900 tickets in seconds?
Is the 107ist checking for secondary market sellers?
In case “members” didn’t buy them in good faith… Is there some sort of check on whether scalpers have become 107ist “members” to get access to tickets…
We’re just really disappointed and angry.
    Seems really unfair.

    Nick Rider says:
    Monday, November 30, 2015 at 11:04 am
Didn’t we sell something like 500 tickets for the game at NYCFC this year? I’m not sure why people are so surprised that 900 tickets were gobbled up within minutes for what is likely the biggest game in the existence of the Timbers.

    John Holden says:
    Monday, November 30, 2015 at 11:06 am
I think it was high 400’s, but yes, we’ve always had the capacity to travel well. The difference is though we sold those NYCFC tickets over the span of months.

    Randy Kilwag says:
    Monday, November 30, 2015 at 2:45 pm
Minutes, yes. I was surprised that it was mere seconds. Seems like different people had different experiences. I tried constant refreshes I never saw anything that said there were tickets available, while others apparently were able to buy within a few minutes. Oh well, technology. Can’t blame TA or FO for this.

I don’t think this is the case. None of the online secondary markets or even c/list sellers are selling sections 113-117.
I think it is just a case of huge demand from a loyal following looking to enjoy a historic day.
I’ll try tomorrow and then go other routes but my flights are booked and I will be there Sunday.
    Cheers

Thanks for all the work by TA and others to organize this and keep people informed! Sorry if people who wanted tickets weren’t able to get them. Anyone working on getting a group rate at some area hotels?

Well we really wanted to go and be a part of the Army on this epic occasion and I am very frustrated to find out thousands of you were faster than me at 8:AM. Thank you Timbers Army for all that you do! May you Ticket Scalpers burn in the 7th level of hell with the Sounders fans! Let’s go kick some Crew butt! #PTFC, #RCTID

Not surprised they went fast and do want to say thanks to the TA for all the effort to get tickets out. Are tickets gone gone? Or will there be a second release to non-TA members at noon Tuesday as previously indicated?

    John Holden says:
    Monday, November 30, 2015 at 9:53 am
There will be tickets available at noon tomorrow, but we’re talking very, very small quantities.

I am not a member but a huge Timbers fan from Indiana. I am hoping to buy tickets to the game on Tuesday. Will there be a link posted to this website if there are tickets still available?

    John Holden says:
    Monday, November 30, 2015 at 9:49 am
Yes, we’ll post information here tonight, but know it’s going to be like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory style scarcity on these tickets.

    Monday, November 30, 2015 at 10:32 am
I hope to see some good news later or some sort of options for people who attempted in good faith to get tickets, or at least a post-mortem as to what might have gone wrong with the site or selling process.
As others have said, we (my husband and I) appreciate what the 107ist does. We have volunteered for tifo a handful of times, done the Foodbank events, etc. And have been members since the beginning. So we didn’t just join to get tickets. But being a member should mean there is an equal chance.
The response “they just went really fast” isn’t adequate.
Is there no way to track how the site worked and if it was really an equal chance for everyone… it seems fishy

    John Holden says:
    Monday, November 30, 2015 at 10:39 am
We’ve used Eventbrite for big events for awhile now. When you purchase, you have 10 minutes to confirm your information before your ticket gets released… the system locks you into your ticket and releases it if you don’t confirm. Every ticket was locked down within the first couple minutes of opening. As of 8:01am, we had already sold half our allocation – not just locked down, the purchase had been completed. Nothing went wrong with the site, demand for this game has simply been huge, even with a very large section.

I was on at 8am on the dot and hitting refresh and never got a chance. They all must have been reserved within a minute. Around 8:10, the message changed to “sold out” from “unavailable”.
I’m not “mad” or anything. I just want to relay my experience. I understand that it’s just the name of the game, as they say.

So my buddies are in the Columbus supporters group. They are selling their ticketd to members BUt you also have to buy 10 home game tickets to next year games. 10 games at $20 = 200 + the 50.00 ticket to final. They are holding their fans, the few loyal ones that support them hostage and we sell out in seconds, and sell out every game. Really symbolic of the difference in real footballing communities and Americanfootballing communities.
I booked my ticket from Brasil and I will get in the stadium one way or another. I hate that I might have to pay a dirty scalper, but I will get in the stadium!

    John Holden says:
    Monday, November 30, 2015 at 10:34 am
We’ll be posting something this evening with information. Note, these are a very small number of tickets.

    John Holden says:

With the potential for scalping, is the IST going to allow transferring the tickets, or, if the person who purchased can’t use, will they go back into the pool for others to buy? This seems the fairest and would cut down on scalping or people who bought, but then can’t make the logistics work. A waitlist would need to be set up, but an added bonus of that would be the ability to know what the “real” demand for tickets is. Frustrating for those of us who made travel arrangements, and are on the outside looking in now, but I do want to thank the TA and the IST for all their hard work.

I hope that the 900 seats that we got for 113-117 is going to be mostly Timbers fans and not bought by a bunch of Crew members trying to break up our supporters!
