First, thank you to everyone who comes to Legends, supports the space, and helps make it what it is. The members, the volunteers, the atmosphere—it all comes from a shared goal of building our culture, supporting our teams, and strengthening our community.

What we have at Legends is special and, without too much bravado, genuinely unique. We have a community center and clubhouse directly across the street from the stadium—a place where we can gather before matches, celebrate together, and host events that have a real impact on our local community.

Having a space like this naturally creates curiosity among visiting supporters. People want to see what we’re doing, share in the good times, and experience the atmosphere. Since opening our doors, we’ve always had a “no Sounders or LAFC” rule, while taking a more relaxed approach with supporters of other clubs when a few wanted to stop in and check out Legends.

Ahead of the September 19 match, several Atlanta United supporters groups reached out to the Timbers Army Steering Committee about tailgating with us, having previously welcomed our supporters to theirs. We were happy to return that hospitality and extend the same kindness they had shown us.

We opened our doors with the best of intentions, but we also heard clearly from many of you afterward: the experience left some of our supporters feeling like our house had become someone else’s. We recognize that, and we hear you loud and clear. It also continued a healthy conversation among our steering committees and Board about what Legends should be on matchdays and, most importantly, who the space is there to serve.

Moving forward, organized away supporters, as well as anyone wearing opposing team colors or jerseys, will not be allowed into Legends on matchdays, regardless of the club or our relationship with its supporters.

We’ll continue to spread the love and show hospitality to visiting supporters in other ways whenever we can. But Legends is first and foremost a space for our members and supporters, and we recognize our responsibility to protect that space and the culture we’ve built together.

Without all of you, Legends simply wouldn’t work. We value that, and we respect it.

If you see someone in opposing colors or someone who doesn’t have a wristband on a matchday, please let a volunteer know so we can quickly and respectfully sort it out.

As always, we’re growing, learning, and figuring out how to make this place better. We appreciate the feedback, the passion, and the grace as we do.
