FoT is asking for our help planting trees in the neighborhoods surrounding our beloved Bless Field. This is their largest planting in the area yet: We’ll be in the neighborhoods of Portsmouth, Kenton, Arbor Lodge, and Overlook on Saturday, March 18, from 8:45–1:00. And yes, this is a family friendly event.
Please arrive by 8:45am to register and be assigned to a planting crew. Make sure you let them know you're with us to be on one of our crews. Remember to dress appropriately for the weather: wear sturdy shoes/rubber boots (sandals are not allowed for your own safety), rain-proof layers are always great, and be prepared to get a little dirty. They'll provide gloves, tools, and guidance--as well as breakfast snacks and hot coffee/tea to get everyone fueled up. There's a warm potluck lunch provided by the hosting neighborhood groups to all volunteers when the planting is complete -- we hope everyone can stay for it!
