Hopefully you've been able to make it out, either before a match, to a watch party, or another 107IST event.

Now, we want to open our doors for you to explore, ask questions, and possibly volunteer to help out! We need to grow our volunteer roster, and understand that it might be overwhelming to just sign up for a shift, so we want create another way for you to learn more, ask questions, and get comfortable with volunteering!

We will have some snacks for folks who stop by, too!

BLS 107ist CPR/AED for healthcare & first responders 5/16/26 (05/16/2026)

107ist CPR is back!

NOTE: This special edition of our CPR/AED class is the American Heart Association's Basic Life Support (BLS) class, designed for healthcare workers and trained first responders in both in-hospital and out of hospital settings.

Class will be held at the Axe & Rose, 1737 SW Morrison St., on Saturday, May 16th, from 8:30am - 12:30pm. BLS CPR class enrollment is currently limited to 6 students per session.

Classes are limited to 107IST members at this time.

This class covers adult, child, and infant CPR/AED/choking for healthcare workers and trained first responders.

Sessions typically run from 8:30-12:30, depending on the number of participants and the time needed for all participants to practice and successfully demonstrate use of CPR and an AED.

All participants who successfully complete the class will receive an American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR card.

BLS courses differ from our regular, monthly CPR classes They use a different syllabus, different course material, and different workbooks because they are designed to meet the specific needs of healthcare workers and first responders. You will need to have a copy on hand; it is required for the course (and there is an open book exam at the end of the course). You can purchase yourself either a physical copy or e-book version here:

This class is FREE but if you are able, please plan to bring $10 to cover the cost of your American Heart Association BLS CPR card, mouth piece and face shield (for BLS courses, the card is less expensive than the layperson certification card but the textbook is more expensive). Your donation will allow us to maintain our financial goal of going out to teach this class for free in local soccer/sports communities that often can’t afford this kind of training.

107ist is a non-profit, all volunteer run organization supported by community members like YOU, 107ist, Rose City Riveters, Timbers Army and our friends and mentors at Portland Community College CLIMB Center.

Remember: class size for the BLS CPR class is limited to 6 current 107ist Members per session, so please sign up as soon as you know you can commit the time!
